Our Darling Shannon Heng Yi Xuan.... Day 1 to Day 12.....

This is my first attempt writing blogs.. never ever came across my mind to write, as I am neither good in writing nor expressing myself in words.. but Hui and Wendy encouraged me to this, which I thought was a great idea, where darling Shannon will have the chance to see this blog one day when she grows up, and at the same time, family and close friends could share the joy to see Shannon's progress in this blog.

Today (3-Dec-11) is the 13th day for Shannon after birth, she is still in hospital now, taken good care by the doctors and nurses in Batu Pahat Hospital, with the greatest angel sent by God few weeks before Shannon is born, Doctor Wendy, at the same ward that Shannon was admitted 8 days ago.

Day 1 (21-Nov-11) - Our long awaiting darling Shannon had arrived to this world on 21-Nov-11 9.07 am, weighing 3.04kg, length of 53cm...through caesarian.. after poor progress in my attempt for natural birth. Thank you Uncle Chin Her, for ensuring both Shannon and Shannon's mama are safe during the delivery. Praise The Lord! Look, she is soooo cute.. with most of the features resembles her papa.. but eyes which are small like me, BUT with double eyelids :)
Shannon: Hi! I am Shannon Heng Yi Xuan! New member of the family!
Day 2 - (22-Nov-11) - Shannon and I were discharged from Pantai Hospital, escorted by "Datuk" Lim Siew Geck, the head of "rombongan keluarga" who is in charge of escorting us out from Pantai Hospital. We were so honoured, as mentioned, it was in the package of delivery to ensure our safety back home after discharge.

More pictures of "rombongan keluarga" to be uploaded soon..

Day 3 - (23-Nov-11) -  It is the 3rd day!
Little Shannon sleeping after taking her bath.

Day 4 - (24-Nov-11) -  It is the 4th day! Shannon is trying hard to open both of her eyes...it just sticks together.....we can see that she is really trying very hard.. but she is making good progress, better than me, which took about a week to open both of my eyes, which really scared off my mum and dad at that time .. :)
One eye opened, trying hard on the other one...
And "ta da......" finally both eyes open with much effort..

Day 5 - (25-Nov-11) - Klinik Kesihatan nurse came over for visit, and noticed that Shannon had jaundice (level 3 - which had reached till the abdomen area). So we had sent Shannon to Pantai for TSB test, and the result was not so positive, at 14.8 (max 15)... and we have decided to send her to HBP the following day for check up. Today, Shannon grandparents, uncles and aunties came over to visit Shannon too.. they drove all the way from Kedah, departed since early in the morning, and reached Batu Pahat in the evening. Shannon's grandma made really cutee.... and pretty knitted dresses for Shannon... see below...

Day 6 to 12 - (26-Nov ~ 2-Dec-11) - Shannon was admitted in BP Hospital on 26-Nov for jaundice and suspected for Down Syndrome. To be frank, as a mother, I was disheartened at first...but I know that God has a purpose and plan in our life, and no matter how the chromosonal result is, Shannon is still our most most beloved child, and we will bring her up with lots of love and care.

On 26-Nov midnight, Wendy came back with us on news of Shannon's irregular breathing which the doctor need to put her in oxygen box and antibiotics immediately.. my heart "dropped" once more worrying on little Shannon's condition.. the following day, Wendy came back again with news on Shannon's low heart beat, which doctor will arrange for a heart scan to detect any abnormalities in her heart. The result shows that there is a small hole in Shannon's heart, but not to worry at the moment, which the doctor will keep her under observation, and our prayers for Shannon that the hole will seal back by itself when Shannon grows up.

Yesterday was the 7th day Shannon in the hospital. When we visited her yesterday, she was progressing well, with the drip removed and nasal prong removed too.. Praise the Lord! Prayers answered... Heng and I went back with a thankful and grateful heart... Thank you to all my prayer warriors out there...

Getting better, nasal prong removed, but still on drip. Our Shannon had grown up after so many days in hospital!!

Thank you for the prayers for Shannon during this period of time. Lets us continue to uphold Shannon in prayer, that she will be a healthy and joyful baby !
