Tongue/Mouth Stimulation Exercise + Self feeding

Was really, really busy past few months. Shannon was admitted to hospital last month for high fever (which persisted for many days) + bad tonsilitis. But thank God, she is perfectly ok now, back to her mischievous, bubbly self. As mentioned in my last blog,  I would like to share a video of Shannon doing tongue/mouth stimulation exercise. She could tolerate with this exercise, and normally she is quite cooperative with us. This exercise would help on her tongue protrusion according to our speech therapist.

Nowadays, we are also focusing more on her self help skillls. Example, self feeding with spoon and fork (she is almost there, with some food spillage, but it is ok, as she is getting better in this), drinking from a cup (almost there too! with a litttttllleeee bit of spillage especially when she doesn't want to drink that water/ juice), brushing her teeth (brushing well on her front row of teeth especially, but need more training tough to make sure that she brushes all of her teeth front and back) and potty training (bladder control improving, sometimes will prompt us, but most of the times not!). It is a really "big deal" for her to achieve all these milestones so far. As parents of special needs child you will know that, it is really hard work for the child and the parents, and we never take all these milestones achievement for granted. We really need to maintain the momentum of "Azaaa, azaaa, fighting !!". At the end of the day, big or small achievements, we give glory to God! Amen!

Okay, below is a video of Shannon eating fried rice by herself (she finished the whole plate of fried rice by herself!)..+ doing physio ball exercise by herself. We are so proud of you, Shannon ! Love you, Shannon !

That's all for now, goodnight and God Bless !
